During the school year, missionaries home on furlough stop by BBTI and teach classes on subjects that they have found to be vital to missionary service. We draw on the experiences of these veteran servants of Christ to better prepare the missionary students both spiritually and mentally.
Periodically through the year, informal classes are given just for the wives and single female students in which topics relevant to them are discussed. In the churches during deputation, the missionary wife often expresses how much she is looking forward to arriving on the field, but in her heart are many anxieties. How will she teach her children? How will she feed her family and keep them healthy in a strange land? How will she cope with loneliness and nameless fears? Ladies who have been on the field and other mature women are a great help and blessing to those who are going for the first time.
