A missionary is a terrible thing to waste.
If you are concerned about the Great Commission of our Lord, then I believe you will appreciate our Advanced Missionary Training for Baptist missionaries. The missionary has a difficult language and culture learning assignment. Failure is not an option. Our intensive, nine-month program is designed to prepare the missionary for success.
The alarming attrition rate among missionaries must be reduced. Some missionaries spend more time on deputation than on the field. This results in disillusioned missionaries, disappointed churches, and damned souls.
We Americans send our soldiers and Marines to war with the best training and technology available today. Mormons send their missionaries to specialized linguistics training for many months to prepare for their two-year mission. Should not Christians, with the only Gospel of truth, train our missionaries with the skills they need? Jesus warned us, “The children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light” (Luke 16:8).
Language learning is difficult even with a language school, and thousands of languages have no language school. Missionaries often use the trade language or a translator instead of learning the heart language and the culture. This results in a confused message and syncretism, which is when people mix Christianity with their pagan beliefs.
Please, prayerfully consider our nine-month Advanced Missionary Training. Specialized training can mean the difference between success and failure on the field.
